🔫Section V: Bounties
(Created by Management)

Overview and Rules
Overview: In response to the growing crime wave and the rise of criminals evading justice, Bounties are now authorized within Dynasty Roleplay as a last resort to capture or eliminate the most dangerous criminals in the city. These Bounties will be issued at the discretion of the highest levels of government, typically in response to failures by the LSPD to seize notorious criminals. Once a bounty is placed, it can be accepted by any player willing to take the risk of pursuing the target.
A bounty will come with a cash reward paid in full by the government, and will remain active for 24 hours. During this period, the target can be captured alive, or killed if specified. However, please be advised that this is a risky and illegal activity, with serious consequences if caught in the act.
Rules:
Authorization and Legality:
Bounties are officially authorized by the highest levels of government. If the LSPD fails to capture certain criminals, they may request that bounties be placed on those criminals by anyone in the city.
While bounty hunting is approved by the Angles (Staff), it is considered an illegal activity in the city. If the Police Department (PD) catches you attempting to complete a bounty or hit, you will be subject to prosecution.
Both the person placing the bounty and the person attempting to complete the bounty may face legal consequences if caught.
Bounty Requirements:
Each bounty will come with specific requirements that must be followed to successfully complete it.
Having a Bounty placed requires prior interaction, and story. You must fully be able to remember a scene, should you wish to place the target.
If the bounty requires the target to be brought in alive, you must leave the target alive at the scene. If the target dies, you will not be rewarded.
If a Bounty requires the target to be captured alive, the reward will be significantly increased. This is designed to encourage restraint — only use lethal force as a last resort.
If the bounty is dead or alive, you may choose to either kill the target or bring them in alive.
Robbery is prohibited: Robbing the target or the bounty hunter is strictly forbidden. If you are caught robbing anyone in relation to a bounty, whether it be the target or another bounty hunter, you will face severe penalties.
Bounty Timer:
Bounty hunters must complete their interactions with the target within 45 seconds of engaging. This timer applies to all bounty hunting interactions and is non-negotiable. If you fail to meet the timer before engaging, your attempt may be considered invalid.
Bounty Targets:
If a gang member is the bounty target, no one in the targets' gang can claim the bounty reward. For instance, if a Ballaz member has a bounty on his head, another Ballaz member may not kill him and attempt to claim the prize.
Active duty EMS, PD, or DOJ members may not be targeted. NOTE: This is only applies when they are ON-DUTY.
All bounty targets are considered armed and dangerous. Exercise extreme caution when engaging with them.
Each bounty will be posted in the Bounties channel with the target’s image and name, so be sure to review this information carefully before setting out on your hunt.
Duration:
Each bounty will be active for 24 hours from the time it is posted. If you do not complete the bounty within this time frame, you will lose the opportunity to claim the reward.
Bounty Regulations and Payouts:
Cooldowns: After a bounty attempt — successful or failed — a 72-hour cooldown applies to both the target and the bounty placer.
The target cannot have another bounty placed on them during this time.
The placer is also restricted from placing another bounty until the cooldown expires.
Exception: The only exception to the 72-hour cooldown is if the target discovers the identity of the person who placed the bounty (not the bounty hunter). In this case, the target has a 12-hour window to place a retaliatory bounty.
Once that 12-hour period passes, the standard 72-hour cooldown will begin for both parties.
Payouts:
The maximum amount of money that can be placed on a target is $1 Million In-City Cash.
The minimum amount of money that can be placed on a target is $300k In-City Cash.
Final Note: While Bounties are a sanctioned activity in terms of approval by the Angles, they remain an illicit operation. The PD will actively patrol bounty hunters, and the risk of prosecution is ever-present. Make sure you're prepared for the consequences before taking part in this dangerous venture.
Remember, the law may be slow, but the Bounty Hunters are always watching! Good luck!
